  1. Open Outlook or Outlook Express.
  2. Click the 'Tools' menu, and select 'Accounts...'


     
  3. Click 'Add,' and then click 'Mail...'


     
  4. Enter your name in the 'Display name:' field, and click 'Next.'


     
  5. Enter your full email address (username@example.com) in the 'Email address:' field, and click 'Next.'
     
  6. Choose IMAP from the Server Type dropdown.

    Enter 'mail.example.com' in the 'Incoming mail (IMAP, IMAP or HTTP) server:' field. Enter 'mail.example.com' in the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:' field.
     
  7. Click 'Next.'
     
  8. Enter your username (excluding '@example.com') in the 'Account name' field.
    Note that your username may not be the same as the first part of your email address. It's the same username you use for Webmail.

    Enter your password in the 'Password:' field, and click 'Next.'
     


     
  9. Click 'Finish.'
  10. To send email, you may need to do the following:
  11. Click "Tools", then "Accounts", then "Properties" on the new account.
  12. Click the "Servers" tab.
  13. Tick "My server requires authentication" under "Outgoing Mail Server"; as follows:



Congratulations! You're done configuring your client to send and retrieve messages.
